A firmware bug found on some A Series monitors may cause the unit that is connected to a local area network (LAN) to reboot during periods of busy network activity. This is generally accompanied by a high-pitched tone.
This behavior is caused by a bug in the firmware. We are preparing an end-user firmware update that will solve the issue on affected units, to be released shortly. Unfortunately we cannot provide a time frame for its release yet.
Be assured that we are working on this at full speed!
We recommend that users impacted by this bug should avoid connecting their A Series units to a general purpose LAN. Until the forthcoming release of the firmware update, the most reliable workarounds are:
(a) to disconnect the A Series units from the LAN altogether
(b) to set up A Series units on a dedicated LAN (e.g., using a small low-cost Ethernet switch)
Please note that in case (b) it is still possible that the bug appears, but this setup reduces the overall network traffic so the bug should trigger less frequently.
Thanks for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience.
